Dear Friends,
We wanted to take a moment and update our loyal customers on a
significant change in the Information Technology world that has an impact on
many of your computer systems. After July 14,
2015, technical assistance and support from Microsoft for
Windows Server 2003 will no longer be available by Microsoft. If
you continue to use Windows Server 2003, your computer network might
become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. There will no
longer be any security updates that can help protect your Server from harmful
viruses, spyware, and other malicious software, which can steal your
practice's information. This is not HIPAA compliant.
* HERE ARE THE RISKS
Running Windows Server 2003 in your environment after the end of
support date may expose your practice to potential risks, such as:
If your organization is currently running Microsoft Windows
Server 2003/Exchange 2003 on your server or Windows XP on any systems in your
office, you need to know about a serious security threat to your business
that needs to be addressed.
Microsoft has announced that as of July 14, 2015, it will
discontinue support for its 11-year-old server operation system, Windows
Server 2003. If you still have a server running this software active on your
network this means:
Get current with your
Windows Server Operating System. This option has an upside well beyond
keeping you supported. It offers more flexibility to empower employees to be
more productive, improved performance, reduced maintenance requirements,
while increasing operational efficiency through improved computer
infrastructure security and management. It also enables your organization to
take advantage of latest technology trends such as virtualization and the
cloud. Be prepared! To ensure you remain on supported versions of
the Windows Server Operating System, we would like to help you begin your
planning and application testing immediately to ensure you deploy before end
of support. If you do not have any Windows Server 2003 computers in
your network, then this letter does not apply to you. As a preferred
Certified IT Provider, we are committed to helping your company reduce its
cyber-security risks by offering a Windows
Server 2003 and/or Windows XP Migration Plan at no charge to you.
